Millionaire Matchmaker 2

Patti  After a long gap between seasons, Millionaire Matchmaker is back for a second season! :)

Patti Stanger is by far, one of my favorite matchmakers! She is the founder and CEO of an elite service for successful men looking to find 'their' true love. Her service is only for the relationship minded! "Love makes the world go around"... and she's here to make the match!

Our first show, we have Brett (CEO of an Energy Drink) who is 27 years old, and successfully chooses two ladies, but unfortunately is just not ready... likes 'new' and totally has the inability to commit! Then we have David (CEO of a Fashion Catalog) who is 28. Now this one... is over the top for me. I mean, answering the door with a pipe in his mouth, the butler to greet you and take care of his every whim... good grief, he's totally conceited. Everything is all about him... he's a 'bragasaurus'. Patti HIGHLY recommends he tone it down, not make juvenile remarks and to stop bragging about HIM. He actually does a really good job, and ends up taking his date to a gallery, gives her one of his paintings and the night was lovely! Way to go David, we hope to see how this future plays out for you.

During the show, one of Patti's former clients, Paul, drops in and fills us in on proposing to Sydney and has her move in. Can we say CHEAP!!! He didn't get her a ring (hello, he proposed with???) and Patti is so livid, she kicks him out of her club! This is truly not how Patti runs things! She's got rules and boundaries and he's broken them all! The good news is that Sydney is now actually engaged and doing very well! :) Yea for Syndey! :)

Wow! I still have two more shows to be caught up! Tune in and check it out! I'll keep you posted of the next shows! :)

Terro Ant Killer

Now that we live in Austin, (and yes, I'm trying to get my blog changed to the correct name) we have discovered we will be dealing with quite an array of bugs, insects and 'critters'. That being said, I tried not to get too worried, and decided to visit my neighbors and get some feedback.

Like I mentioned before, we are loving Austin and our new community!!! :D So, I get the scoop on what to be prepared for and approximately when to be expecting issues, from one of our neighbors. That in itself was quite helpful and helped me be a little more at ease.

Then I visit our other neighbors, (both of our neighbors are the best!!) and they also give me the 'skinny' as well. The best part, was when I told them we had these tiny little ants, that just came out of thin air... literally! I KNOW we didn't bring them from Dallas... and I KNOW I didn't just open the door to welcome them either. So how and where did they come from? We probably will never know for sure, but I will say one thing, she recommended TERRO Ant Baits, and man, are they the best!!! I set them out, and ants were coming out of the wood work! I stared in amazement, trying not to freak... as they went crazy over this bait. It's looks like clear syrup, and in less than 2 days, we were free of ants!!! I did my little happy dance, proceeded to place other little traps out of the way, but to ensure we don't have this problem again! I am one happy camper, no pun intended, without the ants! :)

I am grateful to have such great neighbors and even happier to know this product is highly effective! Check it out and pass it along!

American Idol

As we called it a night, we sat down to watch another American Idol show. We were really thrilled to see Danny, Alexis and Michael make it through! Huge Congrats to them!!! :) They definitelyhave the talent, the vocals, the range, and really connect with America! I can't wait to see how far they'll make it. Alexis belted out 'I Never Loved A Man' and it was a great performance! She truly can sing! Michael did a great job with 'I Don't Want Be'. Danny was our favorite, singing 'Hero'. I think they should be proud and the original songwriters should be as well! Kudos to each of them! :)

As for the 36 contestants that did make it, I would be so proud! They made it through thousands of people trying out, and they made it to the top 36. How great is that? I personally think it is a blessing! You get your time in front of America, and you have the potential to still become a star! Look at all the other Idols who didn't make 'The' American Idol, who have now put out some really great hits and been very successful! So I say, keep on dreaming big, live life to the fullest and never give up, opportunity is just the corner! You just may not realize where you'll land next! :)

Stay tuned and vote for your favorite Idol! :)

American Idol Season 8

WOW! Time goes by so quickly... especially while you're trying to move. I have missed blogging!

Here we are watching the 8th season of American Idol! :) Such great talent!!!  We always enjoy the auditions, due to the wide variety of talent and train wrecks. All in all, it makes for quite an entertaining evening.

As we watched this evening, it was a little bit of a roller coaster for us. Some finalists, nailed it, while others, completely missed the mark. I think the judges said it well, when they stated some artist's hold their own and it should be left that way. It's difficult to compete with some of the best artist's of our time. That being said, Danny Gokey, the 12th contestant, totally cranked out his version of Mariah Carey!!! I am SO not a fan of her (nothing personal, just musical) and he belted out 'Hero' like nothing I've ever heard! Way to go Danny!!! I do hope America votes and allows you to continue on this journey! You have a phenomenal voice, and an inspiring story!!! :) Our hats are off to you!

Stay tuned and enjoy!!! :)

Our Big Move to Austin!

We have finally all made it a successful move to Austin! (I'll have to change my blog address).

My husband was blessed with a wonderful job opportunity back in October! He is truly enjoying his job and we are so grateful that we were able to find a home so quickly. It seems as though the past three months FLEW by! Tring to pack, move and find a new home can be VERY overwhelming. Over the holiday season, we found a home, got things Packed (due to our incredible Mark Pitman team) and Moved (with the wonderful asssistance of King Moving with Jim Reynold's team)... contact me for references and numbers! They are the ones truly responsible for helping our move go so smoothly and easily!

We found a home in the Leander ISD school district, and we LOVE our new home! I can personaly say, AUSTIN is the city that got Texas named the Friendly State! Seriously! We had our new neighbors stop over, introduce themselves, bring us cookies, and welcom us. I was beside myself, with joy. EVERYONE has been so pleasant and friendly. My daughter enjoys taking our dog on hiking trails and just getting out for some fresh air! It feels like we are on a different planet. I never thought I'd see the day that I'd get to see a Lemonade Stand.... like back when we were kids, up and running on the corner of our very own Drive. Our first day here, our neighbor and her friends were set up and selling Lemonade! It was the sweetest thing... here in the day, where our children don't get to do the same things we did, due to our society, they were selling tasty lemonade and even getting donations, just out of the kindness of their hearts. That being said, I get to see a ton of children, riding their bikes or scooters, hiking the hills or trails, playing football and basketball and just hanging out! I feel so SAFE... and it's a breath of fresh air to see kids growing up like I did. :)

Austin is a ton of fun to be apart of and we are so grateful to live in a community that is family friendly and SUPER welcoming and helpful! We have a great neighborhood and wonderful neighbors! We can't get enough of this peaceful, refreshing lifestyle!

I will keep you posted on our progress and our new days in Austin! Stay tuned and take care!

Twilight - The Movie

Twilight-groupshot-big  Right before Thanksgiving, Twilight was released in the theaters! WOW! We are talking HUGE here in Dallas. I've never seen anything like it, ever! My daughter and one of her best friends convince her mom and I to take them to a midnight Premiere. Ok... I admit, this was one of my favorite series, so we make sure all homework is done, ate dinner, took naps, got everything in order, and off we go to see the Premiere! We leave at 10:30 and the theater is 7 minutes away. There are "Disney" lines wrapped everywhere and loads of people standing in them. Oh my... are we going to get good seats (I'm a stickler about that), it's so late... I'm a mom... and these are just a few of my concerns while also trying not to embarrass my teenage daughter. It's nice to know we are surrounded by hundreds of other people just as anxious and eager to see this movie!

I have to say, the movie was pretty good! Of course all books are better than a movie, but they did a pretty good job at keeping to the story line! On a side note... some of the characters and their hair just weren't what I thought they'd be from the books!) I tried to overcome that! There were also several quirky things I didn't care for, but I enjoyed the movie overall! I enjoyed the 'apple in the cafeteria scene', enjoyed the remark about "I can't leave you alone for a minute, before the wolves start to descend" and my all time favorite thing included in the movie, that wasn't in the book.... the wall of graduation caps! That truly made me smile! LOVED IT! It's those tiny things they ADD that set the movie from the book! (I actually want to re-read and see the movie again!) Great movie and can't wait for New Moon!

Kudos to Stephenie Meyer! I am impressed that she just wrote these books from a dream she had. She's a mom with 3 young children and has released 5 books in 5 years! She also plans to make another from Edwards point of view! I cannot wait!!! On a sad note, this new book, Midnight Sun (Edward's View) should be a great hit, and from what I've read, I hope she continues and finishes it, but it might not happen. A partial draft  was illegally obtained and distributed on the Internet without her permission! This is a huge violation to her as an individual and author (the same for filmmakers and musicians alike). Thankfully, you can view this link above, click Midnight Sun and read her personal thoughts and also share the beginnings of a wonderful book, I hope she will complete! I personally am sorry this happened to her and hope she doesn't give up! She's an excellent author and has a phenomenal way of captivating you! Go Stephenie!!! :)

The Twilight Series

Twilightcover                                                  If you've not read the Twilight series, you should jump on the wagon! Seriously! It's been on the New York top selling list, for quite some time! Stephenie Meyer did a spectacular job writing this series! She has so much talent and is so descriptive, it's positively riveting!

Originally, my daughter brought this home from her school book fair. I wasn't quite sure what to make of it, but when she finished it (in just a few days) I decided to pick it up, and couldn't put it down! I fell in love with the plot and characters from the very beginning! I'm really not a 'Vampire' kind of reader, but this was different!  This was captivating! Meyer makes you feel as if you're right there, smack in the middle of this story! Needless to say, I breezed through the first book, second, third and the phenomenal fourth and last book... thinking, WOW! that was incredible! There is a little bit of a lull, where you feel as if you can't keep reading, just at the edge of your seat, with the same thought.... will Edward and Bella be together forever!!! UGH!!! I just wanted closure! The fourth book was well worth the wait!

These books are quick reads and by the fourth book, and I hope you enjoy them just as much as I did! Now for the movie!!! We can hardly wait! Tune in for my thoughts on the movie! I also hope you check out Meyer's Twilight series! As for Dallas... the Galleria has gone wild with thousands lined up to get the bracelet that will hopefully get you up close and personal with the characters, if not chosen to be the one to ask questions and get autographs! Things are heating up and super busy! Enjoy!

Preparing to move!

It's been too long! I've been out and about, and preparing for our home to be placed on the market. Man, is it tough! With today's markets, values, etc... one can only imagine how difficult this task can be! Trust me, I'm in the process. Not the best excuse for not blogging... but just the solid truth. I hope I can get back into my groove... especially since I really enjoy it. For those that keep checking in, I hope to get back in this, share my thoughts and experiences, hoping to once again bring smiles to people's faces or even brighten their day.

So here's to a new season for me! I hope my blog jumps back out there again!

Take care and many blessings!

Trace Adkins - A Personal Stand

Trace This is by far, a bold book, where Trace shares his "maverick manifesto on politics, personal responsibility, being true to yourself, hard work, parenting, fame, and the way things ought to be" (taken from the inside jacket)

Great read, fast paced, and couldn't put it down. Controversial, but his history lessons and eye opening facts, had me won over! He is very open minded and has very strong opinions!I really liked this book and would enjoy meeting him in person!

Check it out... if you can handle it! :)

The Soup

Thumbnail At the end of a long day... we LOVE watching The Soupon E! Joel McHale is one of my favorites.  He is quite the comedian, to say the least! Most of his topics are pretty funny and we enjoy the way he can turn practically anything, into hilarious! From talk show hosts, to reality tv, and everything in between... he's got something to say about all of it! Gotta love a little humor, at the end of a long day!

Try to check his show out! I hope it makes you laugh out loud! :)
